Modern Esthetic Treatment Options & Digital Technologies in Daily Practice

ICON Lecture and Live Patient Hands-On

Guest Talk in collaboration with Ivoclar

Lecture Synopsis

Our patients are demanding more esthetic, durable and minimally invasive restorations these days. The combination of digitally manufactured all-ceramic restorations and the adhesive cementation technique facilitate long-lasting restorations, resulting in significant preservation of tooth structure and excellent esthetics, meeting the highest patient demands. However, small mistakes in the various clinical steps of the treatment sequence and the manufacturing process can compromise the clinical long-term success of our fixed prosthetic restorations.

Dr Michael Dieter will present the latest innovations with a focus on material selection, intraoral scanning, completion and cementation of the final restoration. The great potential of digital technologies within the clinical treatment sequence will be displayed, as well as its limitations.

Learning Objectives

  1. Material selection for indirect restorations considering esthetics, strength, invasiveness and clinical longevity.
  2. Intraoral scanning—strategies to get a fast and precise scan.
  3. Surface treatment of all-ceramic materials prior to cementation.
  4. Clinical steps for optimum cementation results (hands-on workshop)
