Lecture Overview
Clinical success in restorative dentistry is based on the execution of several procedures, one of which is soft tissue management. Regardless of direct or indirect procedures, the quality of a restoration is highly dependent on the effectiveness of gingival isolation during the treatment. Proper care and treatment of the soft tissue complex also plays an important role in the aesthetics of a restoration. More importantly, respecting the restorative-gingival interaction and maintaining periodontal health is key to the health of the tooth as well as the prognosis of the treatment.
This lecture aims to:
- Present several clinical situations where it is necessary to control contamination.
- Present different techniques to help ensure a dry operating field during restorative work.
- Explore different techniques involved in soft tissue harvest and grafting around teeth and implants as a way to improve final restorative outcomes.
