Biography

Dr Frank Zimmerling studied dental medicine in Würzburg, Germany. After a short stint as an assistant dentist in a private practice, he joined the University Dental Clinic in Bonn, Germany, as a resident in the departments of preclinical education and prosthodontics.

In 2003, he established a dental practice in Cologne, Germany, and in the same year he received his doctorate in dentistry. Since 2010, he has held the positions of Manager Professional Services and Manager Global Education Clinical and since 2021, he is Head of Removable Prosthetics Global Education at Ivoclar in Liechtenstein.

He lectures and offers training courses internationally, specializing in removable prosthetics. He holds the additional qualifications of BPS Master Instructor and Instructor for the SEMCD technique developed by Dr

J. Abe.

Biography

Thomas Doblander is a certified dental technician who trained in Germany. After receiving his university entrance qualification, he worked for Dentsply for six years, before joining Ivoclar in Schaan, Liechtenstein, in

Initially, he worked as a product manager and was responsible for the artificial teeth and denture base materials portfolios. In 2016, he assumed the position of Senior Manager Global Education Technical. In this position he educates dealers, clients and company employees on topics related to removable denture prosthetics and digital dentures.

He is a master instructor for the Biofunctional Prosthetic System and the Ivotion Denture System. In addition, he speaks at international events and exhibitions.

Biography

Dr. Elvin Leong, an accredited Dental Specialist in Prosthodontics with the Singapore Dental Council, received his basic dental training in the National University of Singapore (NUS). He went on to pursue specialty training in Prosthodontics and obtained both a Master of Dental Surgery (Prosthodontics) from the National University of Singapore and a Membership in Restorative Dentistry (Prosthodontics) of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. Dr. Leong is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the specialty of Prosthodontics.

He is an Adjunct Lecturer to both undergraduates and postgraduates in NUS, and previously an Adjunct Associate Professor with International Medical University Malaysia. He was previously the Chairman of the Chapter of Prosthodontists, College of Dental Surgeons, Singapore. Currently, he is a member of the Dental Specialist Accreditation Committee for the specialty of Prosthodontics, Academy of Medicine (Singapore).

Dr Leong was an executive committee member of the Prosthodontic Society (Singapore) from 2008 to 2015 and he served as President from 2010 to 2012. He was an executive committee member of the Aesthetic Dentistry Society (Singapore) from 2017 to 2021. He was an abstract writer/reviewer for the International Journal of Prosthodontics and has made presentations at conferences internationally and has published in scientific journals both in Singapore and internationally.

Romeo D.

Biography

Romeo D. Sales Jr. is a certified BPS and SEMCD dental technician with over 20 years of experience in the field of removable prosthetics. He graduated from De Ocampo Memorial College in Manila and began his career at Interadent Zahntechnik Phils. Inc., a German lab in the Philippines. He later moved to Dubai to work at American Dental Laboratory, gaining hands-on experience with clinicians and leading junior technicians.

Upon returning to the Philippines, he took on a supervisory role at Dental Works International Inc. and later advanced his career in Singapore with Apollonia and Faith Dental Laboratories.

Since 2016, Romeo has focused on BPS dentures, working closely with Dr. Elvin Leong and receiving specialized training in the BPS concept and SEMCD technique. He has trained under industry leaders including Dr. Jiro Abe, Kyoko Kokubo, Arnie J. Jabour, Thomas Doblander, and Dr. Frank Zimmerling. In December 2023, he completed the BPS Technical Instructor course in Kuala Lumpur. He is currently part of the team at Dontia Digital Innovations Laboratory in Singapore, where he continues to apply and expand his expertise in advanced denture prosthetics.
