Role of Composite Resins in the Dental Practice

A module of Young Clinician Series

Lecture Overview

Direct composite restorations on anterior and posterior teeth have become very desirable treatment options for clinicians motivated to offer their patients conservative, functional, long-lasting and aesthetic solutions. With proper techniques and state-of-the-art composite systems, clinicians can create beautiful restorations that mimic natural tooth structure. Selecting composite materials for each individual situation, based on physical properties as well as their opacity/translucency, gives the best results.

This lecture aims to:

  • Share with practitioners clinically conservative and predictable approaches applicable in daily practice
  • Discuss the importance of communication between patients, clinicians and laboratory
  • Discuss management of traumatic cases, aesthetic solutions and functional needs
