Managing Dental Trauma in the General Practice

Lecture Overview

The dental office is often the first port-of-call when patients fall and sustains dento-alveolar injuries. The general dental practitioner needs to manage the immediate needs of the patients , stabilizing them, before deciding if patient’s condition requires specialists’ management or plan for the long-term restorative solution.

We will discuss the following:

• Management of patients’ immediate dental emergencies when they present in the dental office,
• Referral or working with the various specialties to manage the patients, as well as,
• Discussion on the long-term restorative solutions for them.
